#3 Hardcover - I went ahead and purchased the hardcover as I heard the horror stories of other customers having complications with their JavaScript & JQuery paperbacks falling apart. Who says picture books are just for kids?! As a result, I usually take online developer courses with videos because it is easier to digest, but sometimes, I really want something tangible that I can hold in my hands and refer back too. over time, visually geared developers simply get tired of reading black and white content for years. #2 This is a MUST HAVE for visual learners. #1 Content is Great for Beginners, yet even advance developers can learn from these books - if anything, use it as a colorful reference book. They motivate the visual learner to engage and store information into their long term memory. Otherwise it would definitely deserve at least 4 stars.

This physical build quality is very disappointing and forces me to only award this book set 3 stars. These books are obviously paperbacks, but they should at least last 3+ passes.

I've been reading these while sitting outside in the sunshine - apparently the glue cannot withstand this. I'm only halfway through my first pass of the JavaScript/jQuery book, and the binding has already come apart (see pictures). The physical durability of these books is horrible. However, to be fair the books do target beginners, so this was somewhat expected. they do not provide enough technical details in some passages.

The HTML & CSS book didn't really cover the more advanced features of CSS3 like transitions, transformations and animations, but being beginner's books that may be unrealistic until you work with the basics for a while and get comfortable with the structures and theory of design. They are better for beginners as the author takes time to teach you the language developers use with real world comparisons. They also make great reference books for applying the structures to your own pages.

This book is amazing and if you take your IT skills seriously then this is a great book to have on your work desk or bookshelf at home! Simply amazing!!!!! I bought the 2 book set because the second book will go hand-n-hand with my next web design class. I already enjoy coding HTML in notepad but with this book it makes referencing code and procedures a BLAST! This book is literally worth it's weight in gold. I ordered this book high hopes that it will provide me with easy reference and boy was I impressed. My web design class supplies an E-book, but honestly I really dislike e-books when it comes to referencing material because I have scroll instead of just flip to a paper page that can be marked with my sticky pad bookmark. I have designed sites using front end programs such as WordPress. Now that I am nearing the completion on my bachelor degree I have to take Wed design via HTML 5 CSS, java script, and advanced web design concepts as a requirement for my program.
